'Alessandro' starring Adriana Kucerova voted Opera of the Year

Viewers of the French TV station Mezzo-TV have chosen the production of Handel's Alessandro, starring Adriana Kucerova singing Lisaura. as the 'Opera of the Year 2013'.
Alessandro’s cast also included Max Emanuel Cencic in the title role, Blandine Staskiewicz (Rossane), Pavel Kudinov (Clito), Xavier Sabata (Tassile), Juan Sancho (Leonato) and Vasily Khoroshev (Cleone). George Petrou conducted the period instrument orchestra Armonia Atenea.
Alessandro, directed by Lucinda Childs, was performed on stage in Wiesbaden, Versailles and Athens in 2013, with concert versions in Vichy, Bucharest, Paris, Amsterdam and Vienna. During the season of 2014/15 Alessandro will be revived in Moscow, in Brussels and at the Handel Festival in Bad Lauchstädt.
This season, Adriana also toured to great acclaim in another baroque masterpiece, Orlando with Jean-Christophe Spinosi and the Ensemble Mattheus.
