Askonas Holt is delighted to welcome Andreas Ottensamer to the roster for general management.
Alongside his extensive work as concerto soloist and chamber musician, Andreas has held the position of Principal Clarinet at the Berliner Philharmoniker since 2011. He made his conducting debut a decade later, winning the Neeme Järvi Prize of the Gstaad Festival Conducting Academy in 2021.
The 2023/24 season sees Andreas make multiple conducting debuts, including for an all-Brahms programme with the NHK Symphony Orchestra, as well as with Seoul Philharmonic, Kammerakademie Potsdam, Sofia Philharmonic, Basel Chamber Orchestra, Philharmonisches Orchester Erfurt, Münchner Kammerorchester, Janáček Philharmonic and the Liszt Chamber Orchestra. He joins the Orchestre Metropolitain this season as Artist-in-Residence, making his conducting debut with a performance of Schumann’s Symphony No.1, Brahms’ Tragic Overture and Augusta Holmès’ La nuit et l’amour.
This month brings a return to the Istanbul State Symphony Orchestra for three concerts featuring Beethoven’s Symphony No.2, Franck’s Symphony in D minor and Mussorgsky’s Pictures at an Exhibition, alongside concertos by Sibelius, Grieg and Saint- Saëns. He also returns to the Tokyo Symphony, having made his conducting debut only this past summer. Other highlights include returns to the Aichi Chamber Orchestra and the Romanian Radio Chamber Orchestra.
Andreas will be managed at Askonas Holt by Edward Pascall, Ollie Haines and Joy Pidsley.
