Askonas Holt is delighted to welcome German conductor Erina Yashima to its roster for worldwide management. Erina has been Assistant Conductor of The Philadelphia Orchestra since September 2019, leading the orchestra in a variety of concerts in addition to assisting Yannick Nézet-Séguin and other guest conductors.
Recent highlights have included a return to the Chicago Symphony and debuts with the San Francisco Symphony, Colorado Music Festival and Teatro di Pisa (Don Giovanni). Forthcoming debuts include Washington National Opera (Così fan tutte), Arena di Verona (Beethoven’s Ninth) and NDR Radiophilharmonie, alongside further concerts with The Philadelphia Orchestra.
Since winning the Chicago Symphony Orchestra’s Sir Georg Solti Conducting Apprenticeship in 2015, Erina has been mentored by Riccardo Muti. In Chicago she collaborated with cellist Yo-Yo Ma; assisted Esa-Pekka Salonen, Christoph Eschenbach and Edward Gardner; and formed a relationship with the Civic Orchestra of Chicago. A clip from her performance of Mahler’s Sixth Symphony with The Civic can be viewed below.
