David Niemann makes his debut with Residentie Orkest

    /02 September 2016
David Niemann makes his debut with Residentie Orkest this weekend, with concerts in Bergen op Zoom (2 Sep) and at the Zuiderstrandtheater, The Hague (3 Sep). The programme includes excerpts from Bizet’s 'Carmen' Suites No. 1, 2, and the L'Arlésienne suites, alongside the Saint-Saëns Piano concerto No. 2 in G minor, performed with pianist Wibi Soerjadi.

This debut follows David’s return from a highly successful run of children’s opera performances (an arrangement of 'The Fairy Queen') at the Salzburg Festival, which we are proud to announce has been featured on the cover of the prominent magazine ‘Opernwelt’.

Next week David returns to Opéra Orchestre National Montpellier – where he holds the post of Assistant Conductor – to conduct Haydn’s Symphony no. 82 and Sibelius’ 'Andante festivo' (10 & 11 Sep).

Later this season he makes further debuts with Turku Philharmonic Orchestra (11 Nov), Orchestre National de Lille (4 & 5 Jan), Orchestre Philharmonique du Luxembourg (2 Mar) and visits to Qatar Philharmonic and Folkwang Kammerorchester. Further plans in Montpellier include performances of Mozart’s Symphony No. 25 and 'Par-delà les Marronniers'.

David conducts the Residentie Orkest on Friday 2 & Saturday 3 September. Find out more on the orchestra's website
