Dmytro Popov makes his debut at Opéra de Paris this week as Vaudemont in Tchaikovsky’s Iolanta in a double bill alongside The Nutcracker ballet. This production by acclaimed director Dmitri Tcherniakov will be conducted by Tomáš Hanus and takes place at the Palais Garnier.
This performance marks Dmytro’s debut both at the Opéra de Paris and the Palais Garnier. Dmytro will return to Paris early into the 2019/20 season as Pinkerton in a Robert Wilson production of Madama Butterfly at the Opéra Bastille under conductor Giacomo Sagripanti, details of which can be found here. Prior to this, Dmytro makes his Teatro Nacional de São Carlos Lisbon debut as Rodolfo in La bohème under Diego Matheuz. All details of this debut can be found here.
The 2019/20 season sees Dmytro returning to the Metropolitan Opera as Alfredo in Michael Mayer’s production of La traviata under Karel Mark Chichon, followed by Don José in Carmen at both Dutch National Opera and Opernhause Zurich. Concert appearances will include a return to Verdi’s Requiem at the Hamburgische Staatsoper.
