Anna Caterina Antonacci continues a season of debuts and will be making her next one at the
Opera Royal de Wallonie in a revival of the one-women show, 'La Voix Humaine' and intermezzo 'Il Segretto di Susana', directed by Ludovic Lagarde and conducted by Patrick Davin.
Poulenc’s 'La Voix Humaine' (The Human Voice) is based on a play of the same name by Jean Cocteau, consisting of a woman’s desperate and expressive final phone call to her lover, who has left her for someone else, before the woman attempts suicide.
Known for her stunning performances of this masterpiece, Anna Caterina most recently performed 'La Voix Humaine' at the Wigmore Hall and will take it to Madrid and Italy this season.
In the same performance, Anna Caterina will also sing 'Il Segretto di Susana'; a one-act opera for soprano and piano by Ermanno Wolf-Ferrari (libretto by Enrico Golisciani). Accused of being unfaithful, Susanna desperately tries to hide her secret of smoking from her husband Count Gil.
