    Nathalie Stutzmann's magic moment in Berlin

    Nathalie Stutzmann combined her talents as contralto and conductor with Konzerthausorchester Berlin, simultaneously singing and conducting the orchestra in their performance on 2 June 2016. 

    At what was her Berlin conducting debut, Nathalie unexpectedly replaced an ill Philippe Jaroussky in three performances of Pergolesi’s 'Stabat Mater' alongside Anna Prohaska at the Konzerthaus Berlin. Journalist Albrecht Selge called it a "magic moment" when Nathalie turned to face the audience and started to sing, with the audience members entranced, on the edge of their seats during her solo arias. She received a standing ovation from the delighted audience, and repeated her performance for two further concerts.
