Ariane Matiakh takes the podium this evening for her debut with the Symphonieorchester des Bayerischen Rundfunks in a programme devoted to the music of Pascal Dusapin. In addition to his Reverso Solo Nr. 6 and Uncut Solo Nr. 7, Ariane leads the orchestra in Scenes from Penthesilea with soprano Christel Loetzsch, and Dusapin’s Violin Concerto with Renaud Capuçon as soloist.
Ariane’s appearance in Munich follows her debut last month with the Helsinki Philharmonic Orchestra performing Dvořák’s Symphony No.8, Saariaho’s Ciel d'Hiver and Rachmaninoff’s Piano Concerto No.2 with soloist Roman Borisov. She also made a debut with the Gürzenich Orchestra Cologne the previous month.
Coming up, Ariane returns to the Royal Opera to conduct Carmen, which was also on the programme when she made her Deutsche Oper Berlin debut at the start of the season. She followed that with a debut at La Monnaie de Munt conducting the world premiere commission of Fanny and Alexander.
Tonight’s concert will be broadcast live on BR-KLASSIK from 8.03pm local time.
