Veronika Eberle: round the world in 30 days

    /14 July 2015

This week Veronika Eberle sets off on a long summer tour that takes her around the world. Starting in South Korea, she first teams up with the Seoul Philharmonic for a performance of Shostakovich's First Violin Concerto. Conducted by Alexandre Bloch who makes his debut with the orchestra, this exciting concert which also features Ravel's Le Tombeau de Couperin and Stravinsky's The Rite of Spring, sees both artists making their debut with the orchestra.
From Seoul, Veronika continues onto Hong Kong to join the Hong Kong Sinfonietta for further performances of the Shostakovich. Veronika also takes some time out to coach some of the up and coming orchestral violinists, as well as give audiences a chance to meet her during one of the more relaxed 'Dialogue' events, where Veronika will introduce the Shostakovich through the substantial cadenza, as well as playing solo works of Bach and Ysaye and chatting with the audience.

Following Hong Kong, Veronika heads for Japan, and concerts in Tokyo at the Suntory and Muza Kawasaki Symphony Hall with the Yomiuri Nippon Symphony Orchestra. This time Mendelssohn is on the programme, with conductor Jeremie Rhorer. After Japan, Veronika leaves Asia for the US to take part in the Aspen International Music Festival in Colorado. Shostakovich is again on the programme, but preceded by a chamber music concert featuring Schubert's Octet.  After Aspen, we finally wish Veronika a relaxing holiday as she heads back to Europe for a well-deserved break!
