    World Premiere – Gerald Barry’s ‘Alice's Adventures Under Ground’

    This week sees the world premiere of Gerald Barry’s new opera, Alice Adventures Under Ground, with the LA Phil New Music Group conducted by Thomas Adès on Tuesday 22 November. The opera will also come to London’s Barbican Centre on Monday 28 November, making its European premiere with the Britten Sinfonia. Mark Stone performs the role of the White Knight.

    In a season of premieres, Adès’ new opera, The Exterminating Angel – critically acclaimed at the Salzburg Festival this summer – will have its UK premiere at the Royal Opera House in Spring 2017, conducted by the composer and with an all-star cast featuring Christine Rice, Sir Thomas Allen, Iestyn Davies & Sophie Bevan.
