About Emmanuelle

Music & Artistic Director, Le Concert d'Astrée

Emmanuelle Haïm is internationally acclaimed as a performer and champion of the Baroque repertoire, both as a conductor and keyboard player. Her long collaboration with the Los Angeles Philharmonic is marked by a three year partnership with them, as Artistic Collaborator.

She has also developed a strong relationship with the Berliner Philharmoniker, whom she has conducted regularly over many years and to whom she returns this season. Emmanuelle founded Le Concert d’Astrée in 2000. During the 2025/26 season they are performing new productions of Handel's Giulio Cesare in Egitto (Salzburg), Handel’s Semele (Amsterdam) and Leclair's Scylla et Glaucus (Zurich) alongside performances of Pergolesi’s Stabat Mater in France and Spain

    Walt Disney Concert Hall
    Jan 2020
    • …given a performance of spectacular musical vitality, one that mixed humor with outrage, one from a woman’s point of view, Haïm’s “Apollo e Dafne” took on a revelatory new aspect… Though conducting from the harpsichord, Haïm was mostly on her feet, in vivid contact with a small orchestra and bringing her unique combination of modern-day fire and voluptuousness to Handel.

  • Handel and Rameau with the Concertgebouw Orchestra

    Concertgebouw Amsterdam
    Apr 2024
    • Amidst all these volcanic eruptions and melancholy, the musicians of the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra maintain the sound and dynamic balance at all times. Thanks to the knowledge and experience of Emmanuelle Haïm and the vocal mastery of Lenneke Ruiten, it becomes a successful musical meeting of the Italian and French styles, which prove equally familiar not only to Handel but also to all the performers.
