About Kyle
Known for his electric stage presence and warm, resonant timbre, Grammy-nominated American baritone Kyle Miller is quickly establishing himself as a performer of unmatched charisma and dynamic range. He is a former member of the Deutsche Oper Berlin ensemble, where he appeared in over 120 performances across 22 roles, supported by the Curt Engelhorn Scholarship through the Opera Foundation. He will return to the ensemble for the 2026/2027 season.
In the fall, Miller will make his house and role debut as Guglielmo in a new production of Così fan tutte at the Royal Swedish Opera conducted by Alan Gilbert, then star in another new production of Così fan tutte at Deutsche Oper Berlin conducted by Riccardo Minasi. He will reprise his roles in Nixon in China as Chou En-Lai, Schaunard in La bohème, and Luzifer in Antikrist before returning to the Komische Oper Berlin as Anthony in Barrie Kosky’s production of Sweeney Todd.
Recent and upcoming highlights include major debuts: Papageno in Die Zauberflöte at LA Opera in James Conlon’s final production as Music Director; both the Pilot in Rachel Portman’s The Little Prince and Le Dancaïre in Carmen with The Dallas Opera; and his role debut as Don Giovanni in Kirill Serebrennikov’s production at Komische Oper Berlin. In the 2024/25 season, he appeared as Sensor in Jeanine Tesori’s Grounded at The Metropolitan Opera, earning a Grammy nomination for its Deutsche Grammophon recording. He had previously sung the opera’s world premiere with Washington National Opera. He made a critically acclaimed debut as Dr. Malatesta in Don Pasquale at Opera Theatre of Saint Louis’s 50th Festival Season, and with Deutsche Oper Berlin, performed roles in Tosca, Il viaggio a Reims, Arabella, Die Frau ohne Schatten, Die Zauberflöte, Rigoletto, and Il barbiere di Siviglia
