About Kyle
Known for his electric stage presence and warm resonant timbre, American baritone Kyle Miller is quickly establishing himself as a performer of unmatched charisma and dynamic range. He is currently a third year Stipendiat at the Deutsche Oper Berlin supported by the Curt Engelhorn Scholarship through the Opera Foundation as well as the Förderkreis Foundation.
In the 24/25 season Kyle will sing Sensor in Jeanine Tesori’s Grounded at the Metropolitan Opera, a role he premiered at Washington National Opera in 2023. At Opera Theatre of Saint Louis, he will perform as Dr Malatesta in Don Pasquale in their 2025 festival season. With Deutsche Oper Berlin, he will take on the roles of Schaunard in La bohème, Angelotti in Tosca, and Chou En-Lai in Nixon in China, in addition to appearances in Il viaggio a Reims, Arabella, Antikrist, Die Frau ohne Schatten, Die Zauberflöte, Rigoletto, and Il barbiere di Siviglia.
Past highlighted performances include Prince Yamadori in Madama Butterfly with Opera Philadelphia, Il Dancaïre and Moralès in Carmen with Washington National Opera, Larkens in La fanciulla del West with the Cleveland Orchestra, and Masetto in Don Giovanni, Ostasio in Francesca da Rimini, and Surin in Queen of Spades at Deutsche Oper Berlin. Kyle has also been a Young Artist at Opera Theatre of Saint Louis, Santa Fe Opera, and a Vocal Fellow at the Ravinia Steans Institute. He is a winner of the Philip R. Nichols Award in the New England Region of the Metropolitan Opera Eric and Dominique Laffont Competition in 2022. He was named an Emerging Artist at Opera Philadelphia and is a proud recipient of the Richard Gaddes Career Award from Opera Theatre of Saint Louis and the Toulmin Scholarship and Novick Career Grant from The Juilliard School.
