Grammy and Emmy-winning ensemble, Time For Three (TF3), defies convention and boundaries by showcasing excellence across different genres, including classical music, Americana, and singer-songwriter. Their unique sound captivates audiences, immersing them in a musical experience that merges various eras, styles, and traditions of Western music. Combining their instruments and voices in a remarkable sound, TF3 has established a distinct voice of expression that resonates with listeners worldwide.
Time For Three’s thriving collaborations with top contemporary composers, including Kevin Puts (Contact) and Jennifer Higdon (Concerto 4-3), led to the Grammy-winning album Letters for the Future recorded with The Philadelphia Orchestra, which reached the Billboard Classical top 10 and earned an Opus Klassik nomination. Their most recent collaboration – a concerto written for them by Mason Bates (Silicon Hymnal) – premiered in March 2025 and will enjoy upcoming performances with San Francisco Symphony, Philadelphia Orchestra, and Louisville Orchestra, among others. August 2025 will see the launch of a new collaboration with Joyce DiDonato and composer Kevin Puts called Emily – No Prisoner Be, a 24-part song cycle based on the poetry of Emily Dickinson, premiering at the Bregenzer Festspiele and touring internationally in the following years.
Despite the individual members’ classical origins, TF3 “look[s] and act[s] more like an indie rock band” (Chicago Sun Times). Their show “Time for Three Jukebox” is a musical journey that reflects the trio’s boundless range and curiosity. At the heart of their show is a deep commitment to original instrumentals and songwriting, interwoven with virtuosic takes on classic mainstream hits and bold reimagining of iconic classical works. Their newest single “Learn to Love,” an original song co-written with Liz Rose, was released on Platoon in April 2025.
Renowned for their charismatic and energetic performances, Time For Three has captivated audiences at major venues like Carnegie Hall, The Kennedy Center, and The Royal Albert Hall, while also shining in intimate spaces and on tours like Europe’s “Night of the Proms” alongside artists such as Chaka Khan and Ronan Keating. Their collaborations span a diverse range of artists, including Ben Folds, Branford Marsalis, Joshua Bell, Aoife O'Donovan, Natasha Bedingfield, and Arlo Guthrie.
TF3’s commitment to education is a natural extension of their artistic ethos. Through multi-day residencies with universities and youth orchestras, as well as onstage collaborations with local music students as part of their performances, the trio inspires the next generation of musicians byoffering an up-close look into their unique artistry.
“Simply put, they’re a knockout! Three benevolent monsters, monsters of ability and technique surely. But also conveyors of an infectious joy that I find both touching and moving. I would recommend them not only for entertainment value, but also for anyone looking to see how all types of American Music can develop, when life and passion such as this are breathed into it.”
