Alexander/Werner Duo

Introduction

French-born soprano and composer Héloïse Werner is currently an Associate Artist at Wigmore Hall and is "quickly becoming a latter-day Cathy Berberian or Meredith Monk" (The Times), in demand as both a composer and soprano. Her anticipated second album “close-ups” was released to critical acclaim in June 2024 with Delphian Records. Colin Alexander is a cellist and composer working across a range of disciplines and traditions. In June 2024, Colin released for new solo cello suites on his record label October House Records whilst also composing and performing the music for Bijan Sheibani’s new play “The Cord” at the Bush Theatre, London.

As a duo, they regularly collaborate with artists such as Kit Downes, Max Baillie and Jas Kayser, and have recently performed at London’s Southbank Centre, Barbican Centre and Wigmore Hall as well as End of the Road Festival and Deal Festival. They are often heard on BBC Radio 3 and have been an ensemble-in-residence for the composition students at the Royal College of Music in the 24/25 season.
