il Pomo d'Oro & Joyce DiDonato: Dido & Aeneas
Introduction
il Pomo d'Oro and Chief Conductor Maxim Emelyanychev reunite with longtime collaborator Joyce DiDonato for a US tour of Purcell's Dido & Aeneas in concert.
Following a sell-out tour across Europe in Jan/Feb 2024, which saw performances at Elbphilharmonie, London's Barbican Centre, Théâtre des Champs-Elysées and Teatro Real among many others, the project will travel to North America in February 2027. The performance will combine the Dido with Carissimi’s Jepthe in the first half, a little known baroque masterpiece for tenor, soprano, continuo orchestra and choir.
