The Philharmonic Brass

Introduction

Bringing together 20 outstanding musicians, this brass ensemble features some of the most accomplished brass players from the Vienna and Berlin Philharmonic Orchestras. Their performances span a wide and eclectic repertoire—from the timeless works of Johann Sebastian Bach to the cinematic brilliance of John Williams.

This rich tradition is carried forward through the renowned orchestral heritage of the Vienna and Berlin Philharmonics, now reimagined with innovative instrumentation and contemporary performance techniques. What truly sets the ensemble apart is the joy these musicians find in making music together—a shared passion that brings warmth and vitality to every performance. Their deep connection on stage fosters a powerful bond with the audience, creating an emotionally engaging experience unique to live music.

The Philharmonic Brass performs newly commissioned arrangements designed specifically for their ensemble. These works demand exceptional virtuosity, a nuanced command of tone and color, and a deep respect for the composer’s original intent—all in service of realizing a vivid and authentic artistic vision.

They recorded a first album Overture! conducted by Tugan Sokhiev and their latest album Italiana! with Ricardo Muti.
