Verdi | Rigoletto - Duke of Mantua
Irish Natinal OperaDec 2024Proving that all good things come in threes, tenor Bekhzod Davronov made for an excellent Duke of Mantua. Vocally, he possesses a clear, bright voice with a laser hot vibrato. Verdi sets the tessitura for the Duke punishingly high at times but Davronov gave the impression that he could always give more. He was touching in his love duets with Gilda, showing a suave lyricism when needed. The way he insolently stared at the audience for his famous “La donna è mobile” was very waggish.

Tenor Bekhzod Davronov who played the Duke of Mautua hails from Samarkand in Uzbekistan. He has a sweet tenor voice that is easy in the high notes and possesses a smooth, warm, and sincere sound. With an assured stage presence, his rendition of the well-known “La donna è mobile” in act three was a joy to witness.

Verdi | Otello - Cassio
[Translated] Uzbekistan-born singer Bekhzod Davronov makes a strong house debut in the role of Cassio. It was in this role that Jonas Kaufmann made his first appearances in Verdi's Otelo about 20 years ago. Let's see what will become of this not too big, but wonderfully elegant and expressive tenor in the higher registers. In any case, Davronov has what it takes to make a career.

Puccini | La bohème - Rodolfo
GlyndebourneOct 2022Bekhzod Davronov looks and sounds sweet as Rodolfo – a light tenor with a real ring to the top notes.

Davronov, an outstanding Rodolfo, is boyishly ardent, caught off balance by the depth of his own feelings throughout, and utterly heartbreaking at the end. This is a fantastic voice, too, not massive, but wonderfully elegant, and easy in its upper registers.

As Rodolfo, the Uzbekistan tenor Bekhzod Davronov impressed from his very first utterance… His tenor is sweet, relaxed, and has a lovely Italianate ping. It soars effortlessly. He acted here with consummate awareness and presence.
