  • Albrecht Mayer and Friends - Edinburgh International Festival

    The Queen's Hall, Edinburgh
    Aug 2023
    • Albrecht Mayer and his friends – Diana Tishchenko, Liisa Randalu and István Várdai – delivered a stellar recital with poise, some prose, and a healthy serving of pizzazz. ...the violinist and cellist tore through the suite of increasingly florid variations to great acclaim.  Sparks flew from the bows across the sitting room, and questions would doubtless be asked about the effect of Tishchenko’s soaring, perfectly pitched coloratura on the structural integrity of the windows.

  • Mendelssohn Violin Concerto - Orquesta Sinfónica de Oporto

    Casa da Música de Oporto
    Oct 2020
    • Desde el attaca del Allegro molto appasionato Tishchenko mostró los rasgos que iban a definir a su interpretación: virtuosismo a raudales, pero al mismo tiempo musicalidad, interiorización ¡y exteriorización! From the attaca of the Allegro molto appasionato Tishchenko showed the traits that were to define her interpretation: virtuosity in abundance, but at the same time musicality, interiorization and exteriorization!

    Album Review

    • Ysayë’s miniature Third Violin Sonata finds Tishchenko taking centre stage to deliver a gripping, fully involved – and involving – account of its tumbling technical demands, torrid rhapsodies and biting intensity. Neither violinist nor pianist can be faulted for the sheer commitment of their playing: raw, concrete hard, incisive and infused with a dark, dangerous rapture that gives way to the frenetic free fall of the increasingly combustible finale.

    • ...big-hearted, charismatic playing that swept her to first place…Spontaneity and eloquence are hallmarks of her playing, and her sheer imaginative flair gives these works a freshly minted sheen. The freewheeling phrases of Ysaÿe’s Sonata no.3 for solo violin are breathtaking – gorgeously expressive, and with never a gesture wasted.
