About Julie
Sibelius Academy 2024/25 Talent Norge - Dirigentløftet
Julie Røssland made successful debuts this season with the Stavanger Symphony and Tampere Philharmonic. She will return next season to both orchestra's subscription series. She soon makes further debuts with the Gürzenich Orchester Cologne, Bremen Philharmonic, Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra and Odense Symphony Orchestra.
Born in Voss, Norway in 2000, Julie began her Masters at the Sibelius Academy in September 2023. She has a Bachelor in Conducting from the University of Stavanger and has taken part in the Royal Northern College of Music Conducting Masterclass with Mark Heron and in the Nordic Masterclass with Jorma Panula.

Askonas Holt Fellow Julie Røssland wins Opptakt position at Talent Norge's Dirigentløftet
Askonas Holt Fellow Julie Røssland has been awarded the Opptakt position within Talent Norge’s elite conducting programme, Dirigentløftet.
After two days of auditions with the Norwegian Radio Orchestra, a panel of industry professionals unanimously awarded Julie the Opptakt position. Commencing in 2025, it will give Julie access to financial and professional support over the next three years, as well as the opportunity to conduct numerous orchestras within Norway.
Next month, Julie makes her debut with the Tampere Philharmonic in a series of educational concerts. She returns a few weeks later to assist Matthew Halls on Mahler Symphony No.2. Next season, she makes her debut with the Stavanger Symphony Orchestra.
