Serbian baritone Ljubomir Milanović won Second Prize at the 2026 Cascais Opera Competition, Second Prize and the Gottlob Frick Prize at the 2025 Anneliese Rothenberger Competition, and the 2025 Fritz Wunderlich Prize. He also won First Prize at the 2024 Nina Solo Competition, the Prize for Best Lied Duo at the 2025 Erika Köth Competition with pianist Mari Ichihashi, and Second Prize at the 2024 Paula Salomon-Lindberg Competition ‘Das Lied’. Since 2025, he has been a scholarship holder of the German Academic Scholarship Foundation (Studienstiftung des deutschen Volkes) and is currently completing his Master’s degree at the Mannheim University of Music and Performing Arts with Prof. Snežana Stamenković.

Milanović made his professional operatic debut in 2024 as the Flemish Deputy in Don Carlo at the Pfalztheater Kaiserslautern, later reprising the role at Theater Koblenz. Recent appearances include Dr Falke in Die Fledermaus with Junge Oper Schloss Weikersheim, Peter in Hänsel und Gretel with Kammeroper München at the Cuvilliés Theatre, the Conspirator in Kurt Weill’s Der Zar lässt sich photographieren at the Pfalztheater Kaiserslautern, and Figaro in Le nozze di Figaro at Bergen National Opera’s Opera by the Fjord.

Alongside his operatic work, Milanović has a particular interest in Lied and contemporary repertoire, working closely with Prof. Axel Bauni and recording contemporary song for Deutschlandfunk and SWR. In 2026, he participated in the International Meistersinger Academy in Neumarkt, including concerts with the Nürnberger Symphoniker and recordings for Bayerischer Rundfunk. Upcoming engagements include a return to Munich’s Cuvilliés Theatre for Hänsel und Gretel.
