  • Carmen (Escamillo)

    Arena di Verona
    Jul 2025 - Aug 2025
    • Luca Micheletti appeared as an elegant and seductive Escamillo, who captivated the audience from the moment he entered the stage, singing the verses of "The Toreador" with enthusiasm and festive exultation. Coming from a family of artists, with proven experience as both an actor and a singer (as well as a regular director of the I Guitti Company ), the internationally renowned baritone from Brescia combines the charm of his voice with the charisma of his stage presence.

    • Luca Micheletti portrays a classy Escamillo, showcasing the unique allure of a precious vocal instrument combined with the charisma of a seductive stage presence. It goes without saying that his entrance, with the famous "Toreador," depicted with enviable confidence in both singing and movement, is one of the most distinctive parts of the entire performance.

  • Madama Butterfly (Sharpless)

    Puccini Festival
    Aug 2025
    • We were pleased to hear Luca Micheletti in Sharpless, a distinguished baritone whose vocal authority (what a striking high note!) and mastered art of nuance allow, in a role often too often considered secondary, to emerge the portrait of a humanist and... true consul.

    • Luca Micheletti’s Sharpless was dignified, elegantly sung, his frustration at Pinkerton’s behaviour palpable.

    • In a rather luxurious casting choice, the fine baritone Luca Micheletti (Sharpless) added dignity and sang with ease and refinement.

  • La Traviata (Giorgio Germont)

    Teatro dell'Opera di Roma
    Jul 2025 - Aug 2025
    • Luca Micheletti is a vocally and scenically impeccable performer...

    • Papa Germont... is the true highlight of the evening's singing. We had already had the opportunity to hear Luca Micheletti three years ago, again outdoors, at Caracalla, in the role of Escamillo . As on that occasion, Micheletti perfectly captures the role: singing, diction, phrasing, everything is there. He also handles Caracalla's amplification very well, playing with the nuances of the part and producing a masterful "Di Provenza il mare, il suo l" , usually among the least convincing moments of the opera but this time, instead, among the best of the evening.

  • La Traviata (Giorgio Germont)

    Le Grand théâtre de Genève
    Jun 2025
    • On this opening night, the rest of the cast is only performing new roles. This is hardly noticeable for Germont senior, played by the charismatic Luca Micheletti , with his robust and warm baritone, seated on a bronze medium, and this way of fully inhabiting his role as patriarch with the necessary authority over the son and persuasion over the lover.

    • Baritone Luca Micheletti (Giorgio Germont) appears like a sun. Blessed with a voice of great nobility, his performance commands attention. His " Di Provenza il mare" is spirited without excess, with the evident simplicity of great singers.

    • ...we will take great pleasure in Luca Micheletti 's Giorgio Germont : beautiful presence, beautiful baritone timbre, beautiful phrasing (and even a beautiful costume...) and above all this way of simply imposing his character, using only the music...

  • La bohème (Marcello)

    The Metropolitan Opera
    Mar 2025
    • Luca Micheletti is here as Marcello in his Met debut. The Italian baritone sings with great limpidity. He rendered an emotional-laden final act duet, with Rodolfo, where he sings of his aptly named lost muse, Musetta, after delivering a splendidly aggravated spurned lover in the “Café Momus” scene; his rich, dark, color being most evident in his interactions with Mimì and Rodolfo in the third Act where he acts, in turn, as counsel to both.

  • Falstaff (Ford)

    Teatro alla Scala
    Jan 2025 - Feb 2025
    • Luca Micheletti delivered a compelling performance as Ford, projecting his baritone with strength and delivering high notes that were both full and smooth. His acting was natural and humorous, effectively capitalising on the comic elements of the role.

    • Luca Micheletti is a splendid Ford, with incomparable legato, impeccable phrasing, and a dark, well-projected timbre.

    • Luca Micheletti, as Ford, was undoubtedly the best male lead, his delivery consistently clear and understandable.

    • Luca Micheletti shines as the Machiavellian Ford, with his powerful and nuanced baritone. His " È sogno o realtà " is a demonstration of technique and expressiveness, supported by the Orchestra of the Teatro Alla Scala , with a most dense direction, greatly adding to the dramatic intensity of the moment.

  • Die lustige Witwe (Director/Count Danilo)

    Teatro Carlo Felice, Genoa
    Dec 2021 - Jan 2022
    • In addition to his aforementioned roles as playwright and director, Luca Micheletti also plays Count Danilo on stage, and his performance is exemplary. His vocal line, truly exquisite in color and timbre, moves between the lines of the supple and soft staff, resonant and enveloping. The performer is always measured and refined, thanks to a nuanced and varied phrasing in which each word is highlighted with the right emphasis, each accent charged with emotion. He is also irresistible on stage, likely due to his close ties to the world of prose theater, where, thanks to a remarkable savoir-faire, he manages to be a true showman who captivates the audience.

    • Bravo, then, to Luca Micheletti, director, and the captivating Count Danilowitsch, who has created this new dramatic adaptation of Franz Lehár's The Merry Widow...

  • Otello (Jago)

    Teatro la Fenice, Venice
    Nov 2024 - Dec 2024
    • ... Luca Micheletti [is a] highly authoritative Iago, thanks to his great vocal presence, psychological depth, and acting ease...

    • The star of the evening was undoubtedly Luca Micheletti as Iago. Micheletti was incredibly impressive both vocally and as a performer—he masters all registers, from the demonic to the insinuating. As Iago, he is the perfect embodiment of the nihilist par excellence, who commits evil out of pure desire for evil, the master manipulator who gently but insistently spreads "fake news," and who ultimately triumphs unchallenged. I'm not surprised that shivers ran down my spine during the blasphemous "Credos."

    • Luca Micheletti is undeniably convincing, giving a splendidly sung Iago, thanks to a homogeneity of emission and timbre that doesn't falter even in the extremely awkward high-pitched passages of the writing, where many baritones end up hanging themselves, and a textbook breath control that allows him to deliver the "dolcissimo" E from " Sogno" in a half-voice . This impressive vocal performance, however, is only one aspect of a total mastery of the character, in every inflection and gesture and in his mastery of the stage word.

  • Don Giovanni (Title Role)

    Maggio Musicale Fiorentino
    May 2023
    • Micheletti dominated the scene with great stage presence, the right amount of histrionics and a beautiful, multi-coloured baritone. He threw himself in “Fin ch’han dal vino” with fearless passion, while his serenade was a delight of mezza voce and legato.

    • With Luca Micheletti, there is no doubt: he is the hero. Without however crushing his acolytes, with his noble silhouette highlighted by a burgundy red costume, he dominates the stage from one end of the drama to the other. From the very beginning, he shines with his peerless elocution, with a constantly intelligible clarity.... It is therefore not surprising that, since he took on this role, the greatest theatres, including London's Covent Garden, have been fighting over this exceptional artist.

    • In the title role we find Luca Micheletti , whose voice seems perfect for this role. His voice expands well in the room and has a fascinating color; he is not put off by Brindisi, which he indeed tackles with bravado, and he gives in to all possible nuances in “Deh vieni alla finestra”.

  • Le nozze di Figaro (Figaro)

    Teatro alla Scala
    Oct 2023
    • The cast was led by the spectacular Luca Micheletti: his dark, beautiful baritone reached all the depths needed for Figaro (quite literally – he sounded more like a bass-baritone) with ease and confidence. His uncommon acting expertise made for a lively, charismatic Figaro, full of nuance. He was a master of repressed anger against the Count, and, after I don’t know how many dozens of performances of this opera, for the first time I really felt Figaro’s anguish and desperation, at the end, when he truly believes that Susanna is cheating on him.

    • Luca Micheletti 's Figaro undoubtedly towers over the audience . The baritone possesses a voice whose color and timbre make it ideal for Mozart's work. Thanks to the softness and flexibility of an undeniably musical line, Micheletti manages to master the writing with such a variety of colors and nuances that his interpretations are among the most brilliant in this role. Beyond the merit of a world-class vocal performance, his complete mastery of the role is also evident in his interpretation, where the singer manages to portray a modern and highly human character. His chiseled phrasing is thus combined with a casual and captivating stage presence that captivates the audience from his entrance in the first act.

    • Baritone Luca Micheletti is Figaro. A versatile artist, he immerses himself in the role, reacting to the Count's harassment, as he covets his beloved Susanna, and declaring himself ready to confront him by "playing him the guitar." Elements of tragedy and comedy arise from the character's attitudes which, supported and reinforced by harmonious singing, make him welcome and celebrated with conviction by the audience as soon as the curtain falls.

  • I vespri siciliani (Guido di Monforte)

    Teatro alla Scala
    Jan 2023 - Feb 2023
    • Montforte was Luca Micheletti, whose baritone was strong and well projected, with an impressive breath technique. An actor and stage director, he used his know-how to give the most convincing dramatic interpretation of the evening. Verdi is very understanding with this ruthless criminal, giving him some of his best music to express his fatherly love, and Micheletti took every advantage of it. His duet with Pretti was perhaps the highlight of the evening.

    • The revelation of the evening was baritone Luca Micheletti, who eclipsed everyone with his strikingly charismatic stage presence.

    • And it is ultimately the baritone Luca Micheletti who is the best element of this set, because his Guido di Monforte has the solidity of delivery of the bloodthirsty tyrant and the touching impulses of an unfortunate father through the expressive range of his phrasing...

  • L’ultimo viaggio di Sindbad (Director)

    Teatro dell'Opera di Roma
    Oct 2024
    • And in the final minutes, Colasanti inspires and entrusts the chorus with a splendid, ethereal, transfigured melody, simple and moving, whose evocative power is heightened by Luca Micheletti's direction, which pairs it with a slow procession of black figures passing through the audience in the dim light of the stalls.

    • It wasn't easy to stage so much variety. But Luca Micheletti, who has the flair of a poet, the ease of a singer, and the experience of a seasoned theater actor, succeeded with a simple and effective construction.

  • La serva padrona/Trouble in Tahiti (Director, Uberto/Sam)

    Teatro Carlo Felice, Genoa
    Jan 2022 - Feb 2022
    • As director and leading baritone, Luca Micheletti achieved double success in the diptych La serva padrona/Trouble in Tahiti at the Teatro Carlo Felice in Genoa. Luca Micheletti's diptych La serva padrona / Trouble in Tahiti is yet another gem on the Teatro Carlo Felice's program, precisely because it plays, with the utmost delicacy, on the eternal recurrence of such characters....The first act of this love story is explosive, the second melancholy, with Micheletti maneuvering the masks on stage with extreme grace. Micheletti is also a master on stage: his singing, like his acting, is elegant, his voice beautiful, resonant, and projected, his phrasing meticulous in dynamics and accent.

    • Luca Micheletti also takes center stage as Uberto, offering a truly remarkable performance. We rediscover the beauty of a rare and exquisite vocal medium, which sounds smooth and supple, adapting with impressive ease to the composer's needs. Beyond the compactness and homogeneity of his vocal line, which resonates throughout the grand hall of the Carlo Felice, the artist must be recognized for his truly outstanding interpretive ability. Not a word, gesture, or inflection is left to chance, but is imbued with profound expressive power, doing full justice to the genius of the composer from the Marche region... ...Sam is played by Luca Micheletti, who once again delivers a magnificent performance. The baritone, skillfully playing on the darker, more evening tones of his medium, highlights the character's boredom and coldness. His vocal line adapts easily to the score's 20th-century style, creating a character burdened by thoughts, yet also disinterested and opportunistic, contemporary and well-executed.

  • Rigoletto (Title Role)

    Teatro Filarmonico, Verona
    Feb 2022 - Mar 2022
    • Luca Micheletti has a beautiful baritone voice, incredibly musical and with a captivating bronze timbre, and he uses it brilliantly. He explores every nuance, finding new and unexpected nuances, such as the "Vendetta" (Vengeance), not proclaimed or shouted, but whispered between his teeth, as if imbued with unbridled resentment and rage, typical of someone suffering from a serious illness and daily subjected to the ridicule and cruelty of others. His soliloquy "Pari siamo" (We are equal), expressed with a wide variety of nuances and accents, is excellent, and his "Cortigiani" (Cortigiani) sparks stadium-like excitement, touching every sensitive chord in the listener, first with an emotional outburst, then with the humiliation of the oppressed who know they cannot prevail in the face of pride and arrogance. Over time, his Rigoletto will become a benchmark role for the multifaceted Brescian baritone.

    • Micheletti immediately captivates us, an excellent baritone, a well-positioned and perfectly measured voice, pleasantly virile and soft, never over-the-top or forced, even in passages that expose a singer to this risk. "Pari siamo!" is an example of wisely measured vocal means, without the use of stress; " Cortigiani" is sung by the book, as is "Sì, vendetta," which, after the two monologues, is eagerly awaited, eager to prolong the pleasure of listening to this beautiful voice. In short, a war machine.

    • Luca Micheletti 's Verona debut in the title role was beyond positive. The Brescian baritone is a refined and scenically confident performer... The monologue "Pari siamo," tastefully phrased and delivered, certainly doesn't go unnoticed, as does the rousing and celebrated "Cortigiani" and the duet that follows.
