In January 2025 he was awarded First Prize at the Leevi Madetoja Piano Competition and recent highlights include concerts at the Turku and Mänttä Music Festivals and with the Seinäjoki City Orchestra. In March 2026 he debuts with the Oulu Sinfonia and Turku Philharmonic performing Pärt’s Lamentate at the Oulu Music Festival.
Born in 2006, Maximilian began his piano studies at the age of six with Junio Kimanen at the West Helsinki Music Institute. He went on to study with Liisa Malmivaara, first at the Turku Conservatory and later at the Helsinki Conservatory where he was also taught by Antti Hotti. Between 2023-2025 he attended the Youth Piano Academy of Finland where he was mentored by Ralf Gothoni, Matti Raekallio and Sir András Schiff.
