About Nemanja

Serbian-French violinist Nemanja Radulović champions the power of music to bring people together with his unique energy and candour, thrilling virtuosity, depth of expression, and adventurous programming. He started his 25/26 season with his highly anticipated return to the Enescu Festival in Bucharest, performing Khatchaturian’s violin concerto under the baton of Cristian Măcelaru. Nemanja continues the season with debuts with Baltimore Symphony Orchestra under Marin Alsop, the Royal Scottish National Orchestra under Giedrė Šlekytė and Bamberg Symphony Orchestra under Krzysztof Urbański.

Nemanja also looks forward to a new recording project with Warner, following his “Bach” album (Warner Classics), recorded with his ensemble Double Sens and released in autumn 2024, his Beethoven CD (2023), rewarded with the Opus Klassik. Other recent recordings of his are Paganini Fantasy (2013), Journey East (2014), BACH (2016), Tchaikovsky (2017), and Baïka (2018).

Recent and forthcoming highlights include debut engagements with the New York Philharmonic, Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra, Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia, the Hallé Orchestra, Gothenburg Symphony, Vienna Radio Symphony, Munich Philharmonic, Pittsburgh Symphony, Detroit Symphony, and Sydney Symphony, and sold-out performances with his ensemble Double Sens.

Nemanja Radulović maintains an equal passion for the intimacy of chamber music and is an increasingly active recitalist on the international circuit. He has performed at such notable venues as New York’s Carnegie Hall, the Amsterdam Concertgebouw, Berlin Philharmonie, both the Salle Pleyel and the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées in Paris, the Athens Megaron, Tokyo’s Suntory Hall, Teatro Colón in Buenos Aires, and the Melbourne Recital Centre in Australia.

He also regularly undertakes a play/direct role with his chamber orchestra, Double Sens, which was recently celebrated for their unprecedented musical film entitled “Unique”, which featured selections by Bach and from Vivaldi’s Four Seasons, as well as a new arrangement by frequent collaborator Aleksandar Sedlar of Rimsky-Korsakov’s Scheherazade, all shot and recorded live at the famed Neolithic site in Carnac, France. In May 2025, together with Double Sens, Nemanja embarks on a Switzerland tour ending with a concert at the KKL in Lucerne.

Born in Serbia in 1985, Nemanja Radulović studied at the Faculty of Arts and Music in Belgrade, the Saarlandes Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Saarbrücken, the Stauffer Academy in Cremona with Salvatore Accardo, and the Conservatoire de Paris with Patrice Fontanarosa.

    • Concert of the Year! A performance of the Violin Concerto that could be described as miraculous (...) Nemanja Radulović was simply fantastic, completely in command of his instrument and wonderfully expressive.

    • Crys­tal-clear tone, nip­ping nimbly through Tchaikovsky’s vir­tu­oso pas­sages with immacu­late artic­u­la­tion, but also dig­ging deep into the Con­certo’s some­times over­shared emo­tions with mov­ing sin­cer­ity. More strik­ing was Radu­lović’s musical mod­esty: in the rare moments when Tchaikovsky gave him a break, he’d turn his back on the audi­ence to focus instead on what his orches­tral col­leagues were con­trib­ut­ing, clearly absorbed in the music. It was a glor­i­ously cap­tiv­at­ing, deeply mov­ing per­form­ance.

    • There’s something of the Shakespearean fool in Radulović. It’s a role he plays with masterful guile, disarming his audience with apparent nonchalance, a baiting perma-grin and a look in his eyes that says “you’ll never believe what I’m going to do next”. What he does do at all times is convey a musical message that, for all its eccentricities, is profound, challenging, truthful and virtuosically handled. This was showmanship and sincerity in absolute harmony.

  • New York Philharmonic debut

    New York
    • His playing of Prokofiev’s Violin Concerto no. 2 in G minor was technically immaculate, with phrases elegantly shaped, especially in the second movement. Any display of virtuosity was constantly subsumed by the goal of imbuing musical phrases with poetic expressiveness.
