In the 2026/27 season, Oscar Jockel makes his debuts at the PyeongChang Festival in South Korea, with the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra and the Konzerthausorchester Berlin, and at Opernhaus Zürich, where he will conduct the new production of Péter Eötvös’ Angels in America with the Musikkollegium Winterthur. Further invitations will take him back to the Brussels Philharmonic, Prague Philharmonia, the Remix Ensemble, and the Sinfonieorchester Casa da Música in Porto. In January 2027, he takes up his new positions as Principal Conductor of the Remix Ensemble and Conductor in Residence at Casa da Música.

Premieres of his own works this season include pieces commissioned by the Stiftung Berliner Philharmoniker, the Gürzenich-Orchester Köln and the European Concert Hall Organisation (ECHO), among others, with performances at the Wiener Konzerthaus, Concertgebouw Amsterdam, Elbphilharmonie, Philharmonie Berlin, Barbican Centre and Kölner Philharmonie.

Oscar received the Herbert von Karajan Award for his work to date as a composer and conductor, which was presented to him at the 2023 Salzburg Easter Festival.

From 2022 to 2024, Oscar served as Assistant Conductor to Kirill Petrenko at the Berliner Philharmoniker and as a conducting fellow of the Karajan Academy. He emerged as one of the winners of the Siemens Conductors Scholarship following the conducting competition at the Philharmonie Berlin in October 2021. In addition to assisting the Chief Conductor in both concert and opera performances, his role included conducting independent concert projects with the members of the Karajan Academy of the Berliner Philharmoniker.

Also in 2021, Oscar was appointed Assistant Conductor at the Philharmonie de Paris with the Ensemble intercontemporain under the direction of Music Director Matthias Pintscher.

In recent seasons, Oscar has appeared at the Salzburg Easter Festival 2023 with a production at the Felsenreitschule, at the Gewandhaus in Leipzig, at the International Shostakovich Days Gohrisch with the Sächsische Staatskapelle Dresden, at the International Bruckner Festival Linz 2022, with the Beethoven Orchester Bonn, the Münchner Rundfunkorchester, and with the Ensemble intercontemporain in Paris.
