Ukrainian conductor Polina Lebedieva recently came to international attention by reaching the semi-finals (final five conductors) at the 2023 Mahler Conducting Competition in Bamberg. She was named a Britten Pears Young Artist in 2023/24 and took part in the programme The Conductor as Dramaturg, organised by the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden. In December 2022, Polina participated in Riccardo Muti’s Italian Opera Academy and conducted Verdi's Requiem with l'Orchestra Giovanile Luigi Cherubini and choir at the Teatro Alighieri in Ravenna, Italy. She is currently studying conducting at the Conservatoire de Paris with Alain Altinoglu.
