Songs From the Other Side

Introduction

"Roman'cism explores the world’s and the mind’s poten'al for the sublime; Dark Roman'cism explores their most frightening depths." – Henry Fuseli

At first glance, it may appear a grotesque journey into a world of spirits, elves, and vampires—but Aphrodite draws upon fairytales and sagas as metaphors for something profoundly human: the irrational.

Laced with a generous dose of black humour, she uncovers the helplessly dark romantic allure of a realm where emotion and fantasy eclipse logic.

Perfect for Halloween, the Twelve Days of Christmas, the Winter Solstice, or a May Walpurgis Night...

This idiosyncratic collection of songs and music has been curated and will be performed by Aphrodite Patoulidou, whose career spans prestigious stages across the globe — in opera and concert, as well as fronting a heavy metal band, and exploring folk traditions as a singer and nyckelharpist.

Aphrodite believes music should not be confined by genre, but experienced through the threads that connect diverse traditions — all in pursuit of a powerful, emotional communion between audience and performer.
