BBC Concert Orchestra
Introduction
Founded in 1952, the BBC Concert Orchestra is the BBC's most versatile ensemble. Known for their range of styles from from classical to contemporary, the orchestra is resident for BBC Radio 3's "Friday Night is Music Night", as well as performing on numerous BBC soundtracks and radio broadcasts.
The orchestra appears annually at the BBC Proms and regularly at London's Southbank Centre and Nottingham Royal Concert Hall. It now has a formal partnership with the University of Nottingham, Nottingham Trent University and Nottingham Royal Concert Hall, which provides world-class performance, composition, and production experiences to students and local communities.
