Prague Philharmonia
Introduction
Founded in 1994 by Jiří Bělohlávek, the Prague Philharmonia is acclaimed for its crystal-clear sound and refined interpretations of its main repertoire focus – the music of Haydn, Mozart, and Beethoven. Its repertoire also includes Czech composers, German Romanticism, French music, and contemporary works. Now midway between chamber and symphony orchestra in size, the orchestra retains its chamber style of playing and attention to detail. The Prague Philharmonia has performed with leading soloists and at prestigious festivals and venues worldwide. With over 90 acclaimed recordings on major labels, it has received top awards including the Diapason d’Or and Opus Klassik. Since 2015, Emmanuel Villaume has served as chief conductor. The ensemble tours globally, with recent appearances across Europe, Asia, and North America.
