JakubPrzybycień

Polish-born Jakub Przybycień is Assistant Conductor with the Orquestra Sinfònica de Barcelona i Nacional de Catalunya, a position he has held since the start of the 23/24 season. He was semi-finalist of the Malko Conducting Competition 2024, where he conducted the Danish National Symphony Orchestra. He was the recipient of the Neeme Järvi Prize at the 2021 Gstaad Conducting Academy.

Recent conducting debuts include Berner Symphonieorchester, Szczecin & Opole Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra. He is Chief Conductor of the Zürcher Orchester Sozietät. He has worked with orchestras including London Symphony Orchestra, Balthasar-Neumann Ensembles, Luzerner Sinfonieorchester, Musikkollegium Winterthur and Württembergische Philharmonie Reutlingen.

Jakub has participated in masterclasses with conductors such as Neeme & Paavo Järvi, Marin Alsop, Jaap van Zweden, Thomas Hengelbrock, Péter Eötvös, Jorma Panula & Michael Sanderling. He currently studies in Zurich with Prof. Johannes Schlaefli and Christoph-Mathias Mueller.

An accomplished violinist, Jakub studied violin at the Academy of Arts in Bern and played in the European Union Youth Orchestra, where he worked with conductors including Manfred Honeck & Bernard Haitink.
