About Mark
In the 2024/25 season, Mark will enter into the Young Ensemble at Grand Théâtre de Genève, singing the roles of Publio (La Clemenza di Tito), Grech (Fedora), 5th Jew & 1st Soldier (Salome), 2nd Strelets (Khovanshchina) and Doctor Grenvil (La Traviata). He will also make house debuts at Teatro San Carlo (Romeo et Juliette) and Bayerische Staatsoper (Don Carlo).
Last season he was a member of the Dutch National Opera Studio, and sang Joe (Rise and Fall of the City of Mahagonny), Second Priest and Second Armoured Man (Die Zauberflöte) and Sir Gualtiero Raleigh (Roberto Devereux) and Don Fernando (Fidelio). He then sang Bartolo (Le Nozze di Figaro) and Pistola (Falstaff) at Verbier Festival as part of their Summer Residency.
In December 2021, Mark made his professional debut in Ravel’s L’enfant et les Sortilèges at the World Opera Workshop. The following year he made his debut as Narumov in Tchaikovsky’s Pique Dame at Baden-Baden, working with Maestro Kirill Petrenko and the Berliner Philharmoniker and last season he began working under the guidance of the world-renowned bass Alexey Tanovitski, and will appear in the world premiere of Animal Farm at Dutch National Opera. He was also part of the Summer Residency at the Aix-en-Provence Festival, performing under the baton of Thomas Hengelbrock.
