About Nikita

Nikita Volkov received his degree from the Institute of Contemporary Art in Moscow (ICA Moscow). He was a soloist in the Sretensky Monastery Choir and the Yurlov Russian State Academic Choir. In concerts he was also heard as the bass soloist in Verdi’s Requiem and Mozart’s Requiem. In 2021 and 2022 he was in the Young Artist Program of the Bolshoi Theater in Moscow. He attended various master classes with Sergei Leiferkus, Luba Orfenova, Semion Skigin and Luca Pisaroni, among others. In 2022 he made his debut as Sarastro in a semi-staged performance of The Magic Flute at Moscow’s Zaryadye Concert Hall. In the same year he received the 2nd Prize of the VIII Byulbyul International Vocalists Competition.

He is currently a member of the opera studio at Bayerische Staatsoper and was one of 13 singers chosen to take part in the Opera for Peace Academy in Paris during the 22/23 season.
