Mozart, Adès and Strauss with Tampere Philharmonic
Tampere-talo, FinlandSep 2022Vähän yli kolmekymppinen Coelho teki inspiroivan debyytin Tampereella. Coelho, in his early thirties, made an inspiring debut in Tampere. On the basis of this concert, he can go to any number of heights in his career. He has temperament and precision, and his gestures convey pure music without any theatricality. ★★★★★

Beethoven with Orquesta Sinfónica de Galicia
Without falling into the temptation of accentuating its edges, Coelho demonstrated the quality of his baton and his inspiration, giving life to a noble and serene interpretation that knew how to convey to the audience the essence of such a sublime score.

The version of the Orquesta Sinfónica de Galicia conducted by Nuno Coelho was impeccable, careful, aware of the language and its meaning. The young (Oporto, 1989), award-winning - e.g. at the Cadaqués Competition - and sufficiently prepared Portuguese maestro then conducted a magnificent version of the Beethovenian Pastoral in which he showed, together with a very concentrated orchestra, not only technical competence but also a very clear idea of the score. In my opinion, the way he treated the second movement stood out, with a delectation almost to the limit, delayed but very clear, defining each sound plane very well - it was an excellent idea to place first and second violins facing each other -, taking great care of every minimum dynamic detail with naturalness and without fuss.

Beethoven with Symphonieorchester des Bayerischen Rundfunks
MunichFeb 2019Coelho distinguished himself in the way he charted the music’s course from a wonderfully still choral opening to the exuberance of the full forces in the final bars.
