About Sasha
Bernard Haitink Conducting Fellow: Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra
Sasha Scolnik-Brower is the Bernard Haitink Conducting Fellow with the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra, where he assists Sir Simon Rattle and conducts the orchestra in various projects and concerts.
Apart from his work with the BRSO, Sasha has recently made debuts with the National Symphony Orchestra of Ireland, Staatsoper Hamburg (Die Fledermaus), Netherlands Radio Philharmonic Orchestra, Orchestre de Paris, National Symphony Orchestra (USA), and Residentie Orkest in collaboration with the Dutch National Opera Academy (Il ritorno d’Ulisse). Other notable performances include Rossini’s La scala di seta at the Bredeweg Festival in Amsterdam, a collaboration with Jennifer Koh and students from The Juilliard School at the Kennedy Center in Washington D.C, and Pierrot Lunaire at the Ukrainian Institute of America in New York City. In the 2025-2026 season, Sasha will debut with the London Symphony Orchestra, Belgian National Orchestra, and Luxembourg Philharmonic.
Sasha is a graduate of the Juilliard School and of the Dutch National Masters of Orchestral Conducting. He was a conducting fellow at the Aspen Music Festival for two years for which he was awarded the Robert Spano Conducting Prize. He previously studied English and Music at Harvard University.
