Winner of the 2021 Washington Performing Arts’ Ambassador of the Arts Award and the Kennedy Center’s 2019 Marian Anderson Vocal Award, Soloman Howard garners high praise from the press for his vivid performances on the great opera and concert stages of the world. Soloman Howard’s voice is described as “sonorous” by The New York Times, “superhuman” by The Denver Post, and “a triumph” by The Guardian.

Soloman’s 2026/27 season starts with a house debut at the Theatro Municipal de São Paulo, where he portrays Il Grand Inquisitor in Don Carlo. He then heads to Houston Grand Opera for another house debut, reprising the role of Ramfis in Aida, which he will perform for a return to the Metropolitan Opera later in the season. Soloman also makes a role debut as Heinrich in Lohengrin with Opera Ballet Vlaanderen, before performing the role in concert under Yannick Nézet-Séguin for his orchestral debut with the Philadelphia Orchestra. Other concert highlights include performances of Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony with both the Boston Symphony Orchestra and the Boston Philharmonic.
