Season's Greetings from Askonas Holt

As we approach the end of 2019, dreaming of mince pies and warm evenings by the fire, it seems only right to take a moment and reflect on everything achieved in 2019.

It’s been an exceptionally busy year for our artists and touring partners, who between them have given more than 10,000 performances across the globe.

While it’s almost impossible for us to pick highlights of the year, we have to mention:

– Bernard Haitink, who celebrated his 90th birthday and a 65 year conducting career
– MTT, who in his 75th birthday year received the prestigious Kennedy Center Honor
– Conductors Cristian Macelaru, Enrique Mazzola, Karina Canellakis, Lars Vogt and Edward Gardner, who were appointed to titled positions with leading orchestras and opera companies on three continents
– Young singers Andrei Kymach, Samantha Clarke, Ilya Kutyukhin and Alexandros Stavrakakis who won first prizes at competitions in France, Russia and the UK
– Debut South American tours for both the London Symphony Orchestra and Orchestre Philharmonique de Luxembourg
– Anniversary tours for both the Shanghai Symphony Orchestra and National Arts Center Orchestra, Ottawa
– First major European tour for Chineke! Orchestra – Europe’s first majority-BME orchestra
– NYO Jazz became the first jazz orchestra to perform at NCPA Beijing

As a company, we have grown, adding talented, passionate people and new expertise to our team. Beyond our day-to-day work, we’ve had many enjoyable moments together, from lunchtime yoga sessions to growing out our facial hair as part of #Movember campaign raising funds and awareness for Cancer Research UK.

Office closure.

Please note that our offices will be closed over the holiday period, from Friday 20 December 2019. We will return on Thursday 2 January 2020.
